Founded in 2023, 5/Fifths was born out of the idea that black and brown people were once considered three-fifths of a person in American History, which implies we are incomplete by definition. Our brand counters that misnomer and gives rise to the reality that we are whole, sufficient and cannot be fractionalized. Changing our circumstance requires a shift in thinking, messaging and underlining our inherited value. 

 

Through fashion, we are revising “revised” history and dispelling reductive ideas that suppress the potential within us and around us.
